Great article.  I read it when it came out.  Check the photos, too amazing stuff!
As for Bob, he's the realest deal as have ever been.

Word is the anti-psychotics,have mellowed him. Though I talked to him a couple times on the phone, I missed him in Vedauwoo.  One time we were all in the greater Reynolds hill area, but he was distracted counting frogs with his Girlfriend's child or something.  He did, however,  run into Scuffy and told him that if Fred or I toproped anything he would come kick our asses!

Great article.  I like this passage.

I later look up Bloodsport. It’s an 11c, so one might expect solid 5.12 climbing. And it is described as “engage(ing) in bull fighting without a cape.”

I'm gonna make an effort next year to get together with Bob.  Sheesh, I'm only two hours away.  I'll never get serious about getting on some of those big bad Vedauwoo offwidths without mixing up my climbing partners a bit (my main partner's a Frenchman for chrissakes and my other partner is 63 years old).

Grug--remember those wide ones we looked at on the walk out from Spectreman?
There's nothing about them in J-brah's guidebook.
Maybe there's a more exhaustive list, or maybe Mr. Scarpelli knows them, or maybe...

Scuff, the chances that Scarpelli hasn't done something that's easily visible and worth doing seems to me vanishingly small.  In fact, maybe you'd know this Jbro, does Bob ever climb outside of Vedauwoo?  Seems like I asked him about climbing in the Black after I had done Air Voyage, and he'd never been there.

Word on the street is that bob's hardest routes are outside of vedauwoo and closer to Casper.   The Black isn't in his paradigm. get in touch with him grug, you got his #?   Walk softly, he's not a pansey like you and I.

Maybe tougher than Bruce Lee and Napoleon Bonaparte combined?

Just reread this article on the original cellulose, still cool, but a couple quibbles.

I think he's only been married three times.

Educational history may be off, as well,
-"If Vietnam hadn't ended I might be a geologist, now.  Glad that war is over.."  Bob circa '78

Squat had a sa in  four years, not "fifteen" harumph! -assuming,  as written, that  '83 was the fa year.
