Climb Tech wave glue in bolts, thoughts?
« on: July 31, 2019, 08:55:24 am »
Ancient Art, among other rtes, was refitted with these. Anyone here placed ‘em? Thoughts and concerns? Contemplating placing them in Navaho sandstone. They seem to work in cutler...

Also, any thoughts on ( otherwise unprotectable ) bolt protected chimneys?

Probably not...check the mass shooting thread

I've placed a bunch of the 8mm version but the 6mm looked too skimpy for me so I switched to the 8mm  twisted leg bolt from Bolt Products.
Takes a bit of practice to get the right amount of glue in the hole but with some thin wooden shims and a container it's easy to deal with the overflow.

Then there's the issue with setup time. If it's hot I use Hilti epoxy for the long open time.

Titt bolts for the win. As is anything named after funbags.

That said, Wave Bolts, with their interference fit, are a good choice for very steep (horizontal) rock.
